A spectacular view of the mountain
The 895-metre-high Montagne Noire provides an unforgettable climbing experience and breathtaking views, especially from a newly built viewpoint less than a kilometre from the Liberator Harry historic site.
On October 19, 1943, during World War II, this Canadian military plane crashed near the summit of Montagne Noire. A memorial has been erected, and the plane’s fuselage still lies on the site.
